Audio Newsletter:
Hi to you!
And just like that, Venus lands in the calm, cool, and considerate landscape of Libra. Marking the first time she’s been put at ease in months. And within hours of her arrival, the SAG-AFTRA Actor’s strike find resolution… and balance is restored.
If you’re just entering the chat on this — I’ve been following the movement of Venus in relation to this particular strike. The writer’s strike was the work of Mercury, but this one is all Venus.
Let’s do a little review — because it’s interesting to witness something big taking place IRL that was undeniably written in the stars.
First — a note I wrote back in January 2023
Second — a snippet of a conversation from April of this year with my dear friend, fellow Leo Moon, and a life-timer in the entertainment industry, Vanessa Chester.
Finally — it’s July 14th, Venus is grinding to a halt in Leo as she gears up for a long retrograde, and the strike begins. This strike felt really easy to predict (even though, prediction is not my bread and butter by any means) because Venus Retrogrades tend to be a loud and disruptive death and rebirth of values. Leo being the sign of the talent/performer — it was only a matter of time that the talent withheld their labor to demand that their value be honored by the powers that be!
And the actors have been fighting in lockstep with Venus. As she grappled with the depths of the underworld in Leo, then trudged through her most difficult terrain in Virgo, finally landing in Libra where she can rest easy. The terms of the strike were meticulously debated and sussed out during her arduous journey through Virgo and the shift into Venus’ most harmonious place helped to smooth out the rough edges between the SAG Actors and the studios, making it possible for them to find common ground and reach a compromise.
Astrology is just fucking cool, y’all. The way the stories unfolding up there in the sky reflect the stories we enact here on earth feels endlessly magical.
Anyway, onto the question of the week.
Saturn’s Bottom
This person has shared with us that they are a Scorpio Sun, Leo Moon, Pisces Rising
Oh Saturn’s Bottom, thank you so much for these questions. Y’know, we all find ourselves as Saturn’s Bottom at one time or another, and now it’s your turn.
To your question regarding talking to planets — yes, yes, 100x yes.
The planets are in constant conversation with us. It only seems fair that we respond.
When you get quiet and turn inward to process your emotions, you are talking with the Moon
When you create an alter to call in some reflection of your values, you are talking with Venus
When you pray for the chuzpah you need to go for what you want, you are talking with Mars
When you shake your fist at the sky pleading why does it have to feel so hard?, you are talking with Saturn
When you recharge your energy by standing in a beam of light, conjuring strength from the warmth and radiance, you are talking with the Sun
To be in conversation with the planets is to be in relationship with them.
I think it’s not only a powerful practice, but possibly the most important practice to create a self-sustaining relationship with these titanic forces of energy.
But this practice requires that you know who you’re talking to and why — and that part takes a little work.
And to begin your conversations, you may need a conduit. That would be an astrologer — Someone who can point to the planets who can offer you the support/insight/lessons you are looking for and give you a framework of how they speak and care to be spoken to.
I feel so discombobulated trying to quickly synthesize the hows and why and whats of this practice. It feels too big for a simple newsletter. I could create a whole course about this — and TBH I kind of did. My Astro 101 Course (which I will be leading again in the New Year) is framed as an experiential education of the astrological basics. Illuminating the energetics of each planet and sign as the stories, myth, and archetypes they communicate through.
This is a practice with layers. The more you know, the more specific you can be with your talking points, so to say. But that’s not a barrier to entry, just start somewhere. Scream your questions, concerns, or requests into the blanket of a dark, night sky and see who’s voice echos back.
But to stick to your question, Saturn’s Bottom — You, my Pisces Rising friend, have Saturn’s hand gripped around your neck. What a perfect up-close and personal opportunity to be chatting with him. Let’s talk about how being in conversation with Saturn may help you work in concert with him, rather than in resistance.
This is applicable to everyone on some level. But I’m looking at all Pisces and Virgo placements, the mutable rising signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sag, Pisces), and the 28-30 year olds who are navigating their Saturn Returns. These sentiments are especially for you.
Back in March, Saturn dove into the oceanic waters of Pisces and the vast sea of endless blue began to dry up. These are the waters of your first house, the house of the self. With the tonnage of Saturn baring down on you, the aspects of self that we once malleable and full of possibilities are made rigid. It’s like going from swimming weightlessly subject only to the currents and tides, to being stuck in the mud.
This is a 2.5-year period of immense personal growth. But not without challenge and lessons. ‘Cause that’s how Saturn does it.
Saturn acts as our cosmic coach, a tough and unyielding one. Pushing and pressing us into a studier and more sustainable version of ourselves.
But being in conversation with this Saturn, a Saturn in Pisces, is not the same as our textbook, tried-and-true Saturn. It is not the same as the Saturn of the last 5 years, moving through his domains in Capricorn and Aquarius. Saturn in Pisces is teaching us all the ways of water.
I know I’ve made this connection before, and I will continue to make it again and again. Because it’s a tangible way of relating to the Saturn we are currently working with.
Freediving. There is an area in all of our lives that has cast us in the role of freediver. We submerge — and in order to not die, we must tap into an acceptance and surrender that may be outside of our nature. To surrender our breath. To surrender the footing of gravity. To surrender to the depths and pressure of water.
To be in conversation with Saturn in Pisces, he asks us to giving in.
Here — Let’s paint a picture for your Scorpio. Right now, Saturn is your Dom Daddy who’s tied you up and suspended you off the ground. He’s not up for negotiation. He is unmoved by your begging, bartering, or attempts to wriggle free. He has the kind of staying power that stands the test of time. When you are up against that kind of force, you can resist resist resist as the ropes tighten around you or you can accept your momentary fate and see what submission can offer.
Let’s not forget, any good kinkster will affirm, in the dynamic of Dom/sub. The Bottom is always on top. This is not a story about giving up to being beat into submission but instead choosing to be an active and willing participant in a grand ego death.
So how does Saturn in Pisces want to be communicated with?
From a place of acceptance — if it could be different it would be.
Acceptance is not the same as victimhood. Acceptance gives you the power to work with what you’ve got, rather than expending your energy grasping for what you wish you had.
From a place of accountability — if it’s on your plate it’s yours to deal with, doesn’t matter who put it there.
Accountability puts you in the drivers seat. Navigating a set of circumstances you cannot control.
Any language of victimhood or woe-is-me, will not reach Saturn’s ears. So when you speak with Saturn, speak with the commitment, integrity, and ownership. This will help you find guidance to build a new kind of malleability and carve new pathways forward.
May you claim your voice as Saturn’s Bratty Bottom. And remember that Saturn may be in control of the current circumstances, but you are in charge of what happens within them.
Thank you for reading! As always thank you for supporting my work. Thank you for being you.
The world seems to be crumbling and I just feel so grateful to have this space to come back to week after week. May we find ways to make sense of the senseless together. Thank you.
