Hi to you!
If I have one single gift, it is my capacity to notice. I notice the whispers of the universe in the most menial and mundane places. Ordinary becomes otherworldly in the blink of my eye.
(Remind me to tell you about when I was 20 years old, ate mushrooms, and discovered Time as a construct thanks to a button on the kitchen stove)
As winter turns to spring, the buds and birds sing a song of birth/life/regeneration. While melting ice and snow, the crunched leaves stomped into the soggy ground, and the barren trees that once held them; all symbols of neutral and necessary death.
Welcome to another liminal space; between the old and new.
On March 19th, the Sun moves into Aries. The Astrological New Year. Where the story of the zodiac begins again.
Crossing over into the sign of Aries is stepping into The Fool’s territory. Where anything is possible, nothing is certain, and the air is saturated with potential. Filled with wide-eyed wonder and the hunger to experience life with the force of a battering ram. This is where something can be made from nothing — with a spark, desire, and the courage to blindly blaze a new trail.
May your new year begin with a burst of new life
Let’s get to our question for the week!
Hi Jordan! My mom and I are about to embark on buying a house and living together. We have always got along really well and as we are both single, focused on our careers, want to travel and have a live in caretaker for her cats and my dog it seems like a winning situation. THAT SAID, one of our sticking points is often aesthetics and our relationship to money. I tend to be very cautious while she has a bit more of a “it will all work out in the end” mentality. I checked our birth charts and noticed our Venus placements are almost in exact opposition, hers at 24° Pisces and mine at 28° Virgo. I’m curious what insights you may have regarding our strengths and challenges given these placements as we enter this financial and aesthetic endeavor. Thank you!

Hi Overthinking Virgo Venus!
Okay, first! What a beautiful picture you’ve painted of the dynamics between you and your mom. I’m very moved by this! Because for me, and I dare say many, this sounds like a nightmare — Love you, Mom! I know she would agree — This joint decision is a special one to say the least.
Now! This question is an excellent opportunity to talk about the integration of opposites! A beautiful and often tedious balancing act.
Opposites are different sides of the same coin. But they are not as different as we assume. We think about opposites as having nothing in common, when actually, opposites have everything in common. And that’s the conundrum. A common aim, but vastly different approaches.
Itty-bitty astro lesson
The planets have different feelings about being in the signs. It’s called the planet’s Essential Dignity. The dignity of a planet speaks to the ease or effort with which the planet expresses itself in each sign.
I will save the FULL explanation of the in’s and out’s of Essential Dignity for my upcoming astrology course with Omnia Network (hehehehehe! More to come on that!)
But in the case of your Venus’ — the planet of relationships, beauty, values, and finances —
